Dress – &OtherStories
Boots – Zara
Dressing to match the Autumnal mood at the moment. Autumn is defiantly my favourite season of all. I love the greens, burnt oranges, yellow and wine hues and the hole transitional phase around the city and most of all in wardrobe of course!
I picked up this beautiful long sleeved print dress in &other Stories on Grafton Street last week for €89. I know that’s not exactly cheap but I really wanted a dressy day dress that I could also wear to dinner in the evenings or meetings for work. This one will take me through all four seasons as well. Dresses like this are worth investing, especially when you see how easy they are to style with the basics you most likely already have in your wardrobe. You can wear dressed down with a leather jacket and boots for a daytime option or up with a smart blazer and heel for work or an evening occasion. Below I did a little something in between. I paired it with this hard green print box bag and a pair of Zara leather boots I picked up last week for €55.95. They are so comfortable (true to size) and again ideal for a dressier style boot with the little chunky heel which is more practical when you’re running around.

I picked up a few new pieces in &Other Stories last week to get me through the Winter. The A/W collection is one of the best yet with lots of lovely cosy knit jumpers, fabulous party dresses, a range of boots and plenty of covetable fun accessories. Perfect for layering on t-shirts and jumpers! &Other Stories is relatively new to Dublin having opened just last December. It’s owned by The H&M group a Swedish company who also own sibling brands COS, H&M, Weekday, Cheap Monday and Monki. There’s lots of amazing ways to style and mix and match your A/W pieces in “The Edit” section online &OtherStories. I put together my own personal favourites below.
I bought the Paris logo jumper which I teamed with blue jeans here but it’ll be perfect with a black denim or leather skirt and boots for the cold months ahead. I also love the Orange puffa jacket featured below which is incredibly comfortable and ideal for the commute to work. Puff jackets don’t have to be super casual they can be dressed up with drop earrings, a clutch bag, tailored pants and shirt. Do it casually with a layered oversized shirt, chunky knit jumper and team with jeans and trainers. They look great styled either way! I don’t really find the &Other Stories stock to be true to size for A/W. Lots of the stuff is incredibly long sleeved and bodied so I would recommend trying on. Most of the stuff I got was size S and I got the black polo knit jumper in XS size.
I also bought the black and green long sleeved dress below. It’s defiantly one that could take you through all four seasons which is why I bought it. So easy to dress up for work with a heeled boot and black blazer or dressed down with a skinny black polo neck underneath, leather jacket and flat boot for Autumn. Remember it’s always good to invest in pieces that are transitional, easy to work into your wardrobe and most of all that you feel most confident & comfortable in.

Coat, bag and boots by Sandro Paris.
Ready for the transition to A/W? I’ve found a perfect dupe of my tanned Sandro boots below from Topshop. The Madison round toe suede boots are almost identical and much better value at 80 euro than my Sandro ones from SS17 collection. (Topshop Product code 32M29MTAN or click the picture below and it will link you to the page to shop). They also have them in black suede but I’d recommend getting a suede protector with these as they mark and scuff extremely easy.
Topshop have lots of lovely variations of crop frayed jeans at the moment perfect teamed with ankle boots, a cosy jumper, jacket or coat for the autumn months as it’s not quite freezing yet. My jeans below are Topshop a new style called Dree. Fitting is true to size I got petite size and waist 28 / leg 28. I always find the Topshop denim great for sizing as it’s very accurate and you can adjust to suit your waist and leg measurments.
My tricolour Bag is part of the signature collection of “Lou Bags” from Sandro Paris(sa855E) that launched earlier this year. They have lots of variations of the Lou Bag online if you would rather an all over color such as black, navy or Burgundy. Below is the bigger variation but I also bought the smaller size Lou bag in nude which I love but it fits just an I phone so I would recommend the bigger size for practical reasons. I like the shape of the Lou bag and the gold long chain is ideal for going handsfree or turning into a clutch bag at night. Simple bags like this are a great investment as the won’t go out of fashion like so many branded ones.

I’ve decided to post a little ‘shop what I’m wearing‘ piece. Below are some of my favourite brands such as Topshop, Zara and Sandro that I’ve bought from over the last couple of weeks and months for my wardrobe. Two golden rules that work for me personally are firstly think cost per wear and secondly how can I style this piece into my wardrobe? IE . Mix and Match! This is key! I try to make outfits before buying at random but sometimes as any self-proclaimed shopaholic knows … you just have to have it! In the long run this usually costs me more money …proof that planning you’re next purchase carefully is much more cost effective. The below are some blouses, dresses, jumpers, jeans and shoes I found took me from day to night, work or weekend. Click on the below photos to shop and enjoy! x
